Sennett, Korn, Ruskin et al discuss 'craft' usually within terms of woodwork of some kind. Weaving is the only textile craft mentioned in these defining texts. These two objects are a way of exploring ideas about the cultural and gendered heirachries that surround contemporary ideas of craft.
